Private School Principal/Teachers

Private schools are lucky to have native English speaking students, ample learning resources, and the privilege of taking spoken English for granted. However, for students’ holistic development, building social awareness and appreciation of The Other India while realizing their potential is important. In addition, some curriculums require students to engage in extracurriculars to enhance creativity, activity, and service (CAS). We provide a platform for principals and teachers to connect their students to local government schools through a structured program.

How will this initiative help you?

As administrators and teachers in private schools, you may wonder how to connect with local government school ecosystems and give your students an opportunity to interact with their counterparts in a structured manner there. Students Collective provides a technology platform to do this in a structured and easy manner from the convenience of your desk. This can be immensely beneficial to you and your students to create worthy citizens of tomorrow.

Testimonials

"Our students could benefit from exposure to the other India. They take a lot of privileges for granted. This program, where they interact and teach govt: school students can help make them more aware and become better citizens of tomorrow. It will also showcase well to get them into better colleges and even jobs in the future."

What is Involved?

You can be as much or as little involved as you wish. Using this tech platform, you can sign your school up online. Then, a list of local government schools is accessible to you in case you wish to pair up with specific ones. You can then send out a call to volunteer to students (and parents) of your school. To be able to manage a class (albeit in a group), we suggest Grade 9th – 12th students teach govt. students in grades 3rd – 10th. Once these students sign up online, we will engage, train and mentor them to start teaching spoken English every week in the governments school of their choice, convenient or near to them. Saturdays are popular as government schools operate then, while private schools have no classes and students academic schedule isn’t disturbed.  All activities and progress will be captured and available on reports for you to review (only for your school). This can also be useful for CAS or other requirements.

Please note that the school doesn’t need to put in any effort beyond

  1. Signing up for this program below and
  2. Sending out call to volunteer to students (and their parents) every year. Students collective will be happy to visit and conduct information sessions.

You can access reports for your school students and their activities (for CAS requirements, etc.). Your school will also be listed as a partner for others’ information.  We look forward to having you on board!
