Who is Surya?
I’ve always found that the best way to learn is by sharing what I know with others. Guiding someone through a challenge, witnessing that “lightbulb moment,” and knowing I’ve passed on something meaningful is incredibly rewarding.
At 15, I’m close in age to many of the children I want to help, which creates a sense of familiarity and comfort. I understand how they think and what support they need. This common ground builds trust and confidence, making it easier for us to grow together.
In today’s world, English is a key tool for communication, and I’m grateful to have been raised speaking it. But privilege comes with responsibility, and I believe it’s my duty to use what I’ve been given to help others in my small way. Through Student’s Collective, I hope to make a real difference while learning alongside my peers.
I still have plenty to learn, but this journey allows me to build connections, exchange perspectives, and open new doors for growth.
